Damon Gough has just recorded a new album at MOOLAH ROUGE titled 'Is There Nothing We Could Do?' Set for release before Christmas, the album features music taken from and inspired by the motion picture The Fattest Man In Britain which will be appearing on ITV-1 over the festive period.
Miranda Sawer speaks to members of Durutti Column, the first band signed to Factory Records by music svengali Tony Wilson and his personal favourite. At MOOLAH ROUGE they talk about and perform music from their tribute to their friend and mentor.
10 years into their lifespan the band will mark the occasion by returning to their roots and recording an album with close allies Guy Garvey & Craig Potter of Elbow the duo who produced Kloot's acclaimed debut ‘Natural History’. Work began in Stockport’s Moolah Rouge in the first week of January for the album, tentatively titled, “The Sky At Night”
Here’s what Guy & Craig have to say regarding the hook up:
The Ting Tings have been doing pre-production rehearsal in Studio-1 for their forthcoming touring. Nice bus! We will be seeing them in 2009.
I Am Kloot will be hitting Europe hard in October & November. Check www.iamkloot.com for info. They will be spending a fair amount of time, being productive, at Moolah Rouge before they go.
Bigfinn have released their album "Rise up & be thenkful!" on Townsend Records on Sep 8th.
